What started out as a major refurbishment of a terraced house in Ainsworth Street, Cambridge, was altered by changing client desires into a complete re-build. (The fact that new build is not subject to VAT ended up making a complete new build cost effective whilst ensuring the house fully complied with building regulations.) A second floor of accommodation was added. Lead was used for finely-detailed cladding in the rear. A new glazed rooflight brings daylight into the centre of the house. Large sliding glazed doors connect the living space with the garden.
